Wood Sand Stone

Wood Sand Stone, which has a very beautiful color range similar to the hues of wood, is a type of sandstone—a sedimentary stone formed from the deposition of sands bonded together by calcium carbonate, silica, dolomite, and iron oxide. The color range of these stones is usually brown, gray, and white. Due to its sandy nature, the stone has a rough texture, and because of the clay minerals present, it does not have good polishability. It is typically processed as sandblasted, bush-hammered, leather, split, or guillotine. Sandstones with finer grains are formed as sandstone, while those with coarser grains form conglomerates. These stones are not resistant to acidic environments, have high water absorption, and are not suitable for use as stair stones, flooring for halls and living rooms, or in bathrooms. In fact, Wood Sand Stone is best suited for building facades and interior wall cladding. Additionally, the adhesion of this stone with mortar or cement is very low, so it is recommended to use an anchoring clip for fixing it when used for facades.
